We are excited to announce that our featured guest speaker at our 2015 Ambassadors of Hope Dinner & Auction will be Michael Young. Michael was a 7x All-Star while playing for the Texas Rangers.

I am extremely excited about Michael being our guest speaker. He was a fantastic player for the Rangers from 2000 to 2012. I always admired his competitiveness. Personally we even share a love for the LA Lakers (sorry Mavs fans!). But we also share a love and desire to help children. The Michael Young Family Foundation supports the involvement of children’s health in all areas: physical social, mental, and educational.
In 2008, Michael received the Marvin Miller Man of the Year Award, given to the player who combines outstanding achievement on the field and extraordinary accomplishment off the field. In 2009, Michael was selected as the Rangers Roberto Clemente Award recipient, which is given to the player who combines a dedication to giving back to the community with outstanding skills on the baseball field.

Cindy Boaz, one of the members of our OFC Board of Directors said this about bringing Michael to speak: “Who better to come and speak, bringing awareness and hope for children of abuse and neglect than Michael Young. Michael’s presence of leadership, determination and hard work on the field afforded him the ability to become the All-Time Hits Leader for the Texas Rangers. That desire to be his best and to make a difference is still seen now off the field as he works with his foundation.”
