September traditionally marks the beginning of fall: the kids are back in school, the weather (slowly) begins to change, pumpkin spiced everything is up for grabs, and the OFC office and Camp Akiva prepare for retreat season. Two teen retreats will wind down 2018, with sessions on servanthood & gratitude, and s’mores by the bonfire. Fall retreats are favorites of the OFC staff because it means transition for so many kids we’ve served for a number of years. Learn more about Onward & Upward and Summit!
These transitions also mean growth – more children aging out of Royal Family and into Onward & Upward, and with growth comes a need for support to continue our mission. Just a few short years ago, we began participating in North Texas Giving Day – the largest day-long fundraiser hosted by the Communities Foundation of Texas. On September 20, 2018, we’ll be calling YOU to action, requesting you help us by following these steps beginning at 6am:
- Visit NorthTexasGivingDay.org
- Search for Our Father’s Children (or OFC)
- Donate!! (We currently have matching funds of $20,500 so your gift goes further!)
- Tell your friends on social media WHY you gave using #NTxGivingDay
- And please consider covering the fees so your gift goes even further
Be sure to watch our videos that showcase our “Words Have Meaning” campaign. You can watch all the videos here on our YouTube channel.
Last year, you helped us raise over $38,000. Our goal this year is to stretch over $42,000. We can’t thank you enough for your continued support over the years, and we pray you’ll give on September 20 – AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS!!
Lastly, remember to mark your calendars for THURSDAY, October 11th!
