Grateful & Thankful

This month’s prayer email is going to be a little different, but stick with me! I have a challenge for you, an activity that can be as creative as you want and such a blessing to you (and your family). So grab a pen and a piece of paper!

This activity is something you might see in the children’s wing of your church or a craft that your child, or grandchild, brings home from school in the month of November. We’re going to make a Gratitude Tree. (This is also a challenge that the OFC staff is going to do in our office!)

So, on your piece of paper, draw a quick tree. If you’ve got different colors of paper, you can cut the trunk and different leaves. If you’ve got markers, you can make it as colorful as you want. There’s no award for creativity though because the heart of this activity is a gratitude. Each leaf on your tree will hold something that you are thankful for. As you spend time adding leaves to your Gratitude Tree, take this opportunity to pray and worship our wonderful, giving God. Feel free to do this with your kids at home or with your grandkids over Thanksgiving next week.

I hope that this challenge yields a Gratitude Tree that is overflowing with blessings. God is so great to us, and He deserves our thanks and praise!
